Eastsound Water Users Association’s board is considering a new rate structure. The proposed new rate structure is the product of a five-member rate study committee which has been meeting regularly since May 2017.
Prior to adopting the proposed new rate structure, Eastsound Water is seeking feedback from the association’s members and customers. There are four separate meetings scheduled in January to present the proposed rate structure to different membership groups. All meetings are being hosted at the Eastsound Fire Hall.
The first meeting is for the 30 members who participated in the 2016 member engagement process hosted by Fred Klein at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10. This meeting will not only review the proposed new rate structure, but will also review EWUA’s progress on the other recommendations that came out of this work groups 12 hours of meetings.
The remaining three meetings will focus primarily on the proposed new rate struture but will be customized for Eastsound Water’s three primary service groups. A meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan 15 is specifically for single family home members. At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan 17, a meeting for multi-unit customers will be held. The multi-unit service group includes most Opal residents, apartment complexes such as Driftwoods and Northern Lights, Lover’s Lane Patio Association, Alder Cottages and Alder Forest. The final, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 31, will focus on commercial accounts. Questions can be sent to ewua@rockisland.com, or (360) 376-2127, and info can be found at eastsoundwater.org.
