In 500 words or less, give a “patron perspective” about what the Orcas Library means to you. The Washington Library Association says the following questions might help get you thinking. How do you use your library? What’s your favorite thing about your library? If you could change one thing about your library, what would it be? How has the library changed in your lifetime?

“We’re looking for interesting articles that examine libraries from a variety of perspectives, written by users (or non-users) of libraries, not by librarians or library workers,” say organizers.

Some submissions will be selected for publication in the March 2013 issue of “Alki,” the online journal of the Washington Library Association.

Submit stories by email to alkieditor@wla.org. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 25.
