A time for giving thanks. Walk the Thanksgiving Labyrinth from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Emmanuel Church Parish Hall in Eastsound.

THURSDAY, Nov. 27

Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Odd Fellows Lodge, starting at 4:30 p.m. The entire hall will be filled with the scent of the roasting turkeys that the Odd Fellows provide for the annual feast. Everyone brings a beverage of their choice and a dish to share. Suggested potluck contributions by the first letter of the last name are as follows: A-M, bring your favorite side-dish (mashed potatoes, yams, vegetables, etc.); N-R, bring a salad or bread and butter; S-Z, bring dessert. However, everyone should feel free to bring their “famous specialty dish” instead of the suggested one.

SATURDAY, Nov. 29

Lopez Sound and Orcas a Capella will perform together during a series of inter-island concerts entitled “Harvest Home.” Special guests will also perform. It will be a night of music to remember. Orcas Center, 7:30 p.m., tickets are $5 at the box office.

Orcas Island Senior Center Holiday Festival of the Arts. The senior center will be hanging the mistletoe and decorating the tree for this annual bazaar. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be overseeing the festivities. Martin Lund will be playing holiday tunes throughout the day. The Admission price is $1 or a donation to the Food Bank. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orcas Island Senior Center.

The Edge of Orcas

From 10 a.m. A vital arts event and sale showcasing 40+ local artists working in multiple mediums. Evening fashion show, funky gifts, food, live music, performance art, live tattooing and painting! At 1-Way Exit Studio and The Living Room, North Beach Road and Prune Alley intersection.

The Orcas Table Tennis Association (OTTA) invites community players to their ping pong events every Saturday starting at 6 p.m. at the Orcas Christian School (OCS) gymnasium. All equipment is provided. A voluntary $2 cash donation to the Orcas Christian School is appreciated

TUESDAY, Dec. 2

The Actors Theater of Orcas Island will be offering a four-week (seven session) play writing class on Tuesday and Sunday evenings beginning Dec. 2 at the Grange. The class, which is suitable for all experience levels, will introduce the basic building blocks of play writing. The cost is $50 (some scholarship funds are available). Enjoy caroling, treats, hot cocoa and a bonfire while watching Lopez Village come to life with holiday lights at 5 p.m. Enter the drawing for a chance to win a fantastic gift basket filled with Lopez products.

Friends of Lopez Library annual book sale at the Lopez Center 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friends of the Lopez Island Library provides support to the library.

Through Dec. 6 the Wreath Sale at the Center Church Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily (closed Sunday). Wreaths, swag, evergreens and decorations benefit the Lopez Island Union Cemetery and Center Church. Pre-orders available at 468-3032.

Lopez Pre-School Holiday Bazaar 10 a.m to 3 p.m at the Lopez School Gymnasium. The Annual Lopez Preschool Holiday Bazaar benefits the Lopez Preschool. Do your holiday gift shopping from a bonanza of items made by local artisans and crafters. Food, fun and entertainment.
