Looking to the past to see the future by exploring the works of 20th Century writers who imagined the future and alternative realities will be the subject of a class on the works of Kurt Vonnegut, Ray Bradbury, Jorge Luis Borges, and Margaret Atwood.
The class will be held on Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center from Oct. 2 to Nov. 20. On Lopez a class on Contemporary Iranian Cinema that will unravel the complexities of the nation of Iran through discussion of indigenous films created between 1989 and 2007 will be presented by Russel Barsh. The class will meet from Oct. 7 to Nov. 25.
