The sun was shining, but Orcas lost a tough match against La Conner’s top team of returning state players. It was a good match for the players and a tough course for them. Low score for Orcas was Roo Smith with a 47 followed by Graye Parnell and William Coe at 50 each. Joe Kosrtechko was impressive with a respectable 55 and his brother Zach and Keenan O’Brian followed with not their best scores of the year.
“I am impressed with the players this year and how much they have improved over this short period of time. Their hard work during practice is starting to pay off,” Coach Bobby Olmsted said. “We still need lots of work to get to the post season, That is the challenge and the goal of this very young Viking team. If they put in the time on the course it will start to show in their scores. This takes time and hard work and they are up for the challenge. This will be a fun team to watch as the season rolls along. I am excited about the possibilities.”
