On Jan. 19, the San Juan County Elections Office will mail ballots for the Feb. 8, 2011 Special Election.

A levy for Orcas Island Park and Recreation District is the only issue on the ballot, therefore they will be mailed only to voters within the Orcas Island Park and Recreation District.

Voters returning their ballots by mail must have them postmarked by Election Day. Voters may also deposit their ballots at the ballot drop box located at the Orcas Island Senior Center, or may bring their ballots to the elections office in Friday Harbor by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Because the only item on the ballot pertains to Orcas Island voters, ballot boxes on Lopez and on San Juan Island will not be open for this special election.
