Orcas Rec would like to thank the Cherry Cherry Band for coming all the way to Orcas Island to donate their time and talent at Saturday night’s concert at the Village Green. Some fantastic Neil Diamond hits were heard from the band as well as other great oldies from the past. Thanks to the band and crew for an unforgettable experience! Saturday’s event was a fundraiser for Orcas Rec to help pay for our upcoming fall programs and I am happy to say we made over $1000 from donations! Thanks to everyone in the crowd for being so generous. We had several vendors there that donated part of their profits to Orcas Rec and I would like to thank them for participating. Fire Smokehouse and Grill had delicious pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, Harmony Chai had mouth watering falafels and chai tea, Portofino’s was serving up piping hot pizzas, and Rich was there with the Ice Cream truck selling much needed cold sweet treats to the hot crowd. Thanks to each and everyone of the vendors for supporting Orcas Rec. Thank you to all of the kid and parent volunteers who helped with the evening!
