Karen and Ken Speck have been Trekkies for 43 years.

And when the new “Star Trek” comes to Orcas at the SeaView Theatre, they will be there to host a special event.

“We have hosted each previous Trek movie that came to Orcas, thanks to Ingrid and John Mount of SeaView Theatre,” Karen said.

The couple will be displaying some of their Star Trek collectibles in the theater’s display case and will give a short recap of the previous 10 movies.

“I don’t think we can fit into our captain’s uniforms anymore, so at least one will be on display,” Karen said. “They are made from the same material as the original series movie uniforms. We contacted Mr. Markham directly for the how-tos on being accurate when we had them made.”

The movie will start at 8 p.m. It will be at the theater until Thursday, June 25. The Specks will give their pre-show talk shortly before the film begins; they will also be there on closing night.
