As I’m writing this letter I realize it is hardly enough, but this Thanksgiving I wanted to send out a great big thank you to as many people possible.

This past year has not been the easiest for me and I’m not sure I could say that I would have gotten through it without the support and encouragement from my family, friends, and community members.

From the day my son Lukaiya was born to the day of his passing, I want to say thank you to the Island Market employees who wore blue ribbons in memory of him, and all the thoughtful people who sent cards and flowers, and now to the birth of my new son, I want to say thank you to everyone for the many hugs and congratulations. I truly could not be more thankful.

In an effort to give back, I am going to be hosting a diaper drive through the Huggies “Every Little Bottom” program for local babies in need. Please watch for upcoming details and drop off sights.

Again, to everyone, thank you, I feel so blessed so be surrounded by so many wonderful people, and that I will be able to raise my son in a wonderful community.
