The greatest readers on earth were rewarded with the greatest show on earth.

Orcas Elementary School reading specialist Susan Stolmeier honored more than 100 students who together read over 980 books this summer. Stolmeier organized a min-circus beneath the maple tree to celebrate these “Greatest Readers on Earth.”

High school students lent their services as jugglers, tightrope walkers, and face painters – there was even a unicyclist. The kids also enjoyed popcorn and juice.

“This is so fun,” fourth grader Maggie Toombs said. “It’s just like a real circus – there’s even a tightrope walker and a unicyclist!”
