Volleyball tournament winners

If the Seahawks weren’t in the Superbowl then some Orcas fans would rather be playing volleyball.

This year’s annual Vollentine’s Day volleyball tournament was held a week early on Superbowl Sunday.

Adults in their 20’s to 60’s competed in the Orcas Parks and Rec tournament.

After five hours of jumping, setting, spiking, and trash-talking, the sweaty winners were Haley Winchell, Darby Sawyer, Armando Jauiregui, Josh Mayson, Ignacio Cruz Gonzalez, and Juan Nunez Marquez.

Weekly drop-in volleyball takes place every Sunday and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Orcas High School gym.
