Farm to Cafeteria’s most popular chef Charles Dalton, owner of The Kitchen, returns to the school on Wednesday, Jan. 15 to prepare and serve another magnificent lunch: home-made chicken tamales, black bean chili (vegetarian) with salsa and sour cream, topped off with Dalton’s special chocolate pudding. The cost is still just $5 for adults and that includes a trip to the salad bar and a beverage.
The last time Dalton was the Celebrity Chef, he broke the record for the number of lunches served at 325. That record was recently broken by Madden Surbaugh of New Leaf, so Charles is hoping to get back on top by beating Madden’s record of 352.
In order to accommodate everyone in the public school cafeteria, community members who do not have kids in the school are asked to come between noon and 1 p.m. when most of the elementary school kids have been served and are on their way back to class.
