Orcas Animal Protection Society is often asked for advice and help in trapping a shy pet that escaped from home and is lost in the woods. Volunteers have even camped out at night in the trap area to monitor it for Kai, the Golden Retriever lost on the night of the Fourth of July, or for troublesome raccoons. However, the trap is probably not big enough for Kai and the search group, along with his family, would like to purchase a larger trap. The Orcas Island Community Foundation has stepped in to help and has set up the Animal Protection Society Trap Fund.
