On Sunday, Nov. 5, A-OK (Art for Orcas Kids) will host another fun-filled afternoon at The Clay Café from 2 to 5 p.m. at the High School Art Room. A-OK, a program of Orcas Island Education Foundation and a partner with Orcas Island School District, brings local artists into Orcas Island Elementary School and Orcas Island Middle School to provide art instruction to K-8 students. A-OK art classes are funded by grants, private donations, and events like The Clay Café. Select and purchase from a variety of new bisque ware, including teapots, flying pig banks or owl or elephant banks, pitchers, mushroom salt and pepper shakers, turtle soap dishes, bird dishes, Tuscan oil bottles, mugs, bowls, plates, vases, travel mugs and more. Paint your selections with the colorful glazes provided. Your designs can get as creative as you want. A-OK will fire the pieces, and they will be ready for pick-up in the High School Art Room in time for the holidays. People of all ages can have fun at The Clay Café. Come and enjoy some yummy drinks and treats while you let your creative juices flow. All proceeds support A-OK’s K-8 art program in the public schools. If you are interested in making a donation, you can donate at www.oief.org.
