At about 11:39 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 5, a vehicle traveling on Orcas Road at Nordstrom Lane, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Rachel Gibson, 32, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and Tucker Abdon, 33, was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. Gibson died from her injuries on Sept. 7.

An investigation is being conducted into the cause and circumstances of the accident.
