San Juan County Public Works has scheduled this year’s hazardous waste round-up events as follows:

— San Juan Island, April 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county solid waste facility on Sutton Road;

— Orcas Island:  Saturday, May 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Orcas Island solid waste facility;

— Lopez Island: Sunday, May 6, noon to 3 p.m., at the Lopez Island solid waste facility.

Check the Solid Waste section of Public Works’ website for more information, including a list of flammable, toxic, corrosive and reactive waste materials that will be accepted at these collections, as well as disposal fees and other updates.

Businesses that have hazardous wastes to dispose of must pre-register to dispose of hazardous waste, at 370-0503.
