A free screening of the awarding-winning documentary “A Plastic Ocean” will take place at the Sea View Theatre on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

There will be a post-screening discussion with local organizations and businesses who will provide “real actions and helpful solutions.”

“A Plastic Ocean” documents the newest science, proving how plastics, once they enter the oceans, break up into small particulates that enter the food chain where they attract toxins like a magnet. These toxins are stored in seafood’s fatty tissues, and are eventually consumed by us.

Journalist Craig Leeson teams up with free diver Tanya Streeter and an international team of scientists and researchers as they travel to 20 locations around the world uncover alarming truths about plastic pollution, and reveal working solutions that can be put into immediate effect.
