Interested in researching your family tree? Come branch out with the Orcas Island Genealogy Club at its regular meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Orcas Island Library.
For the July meeting, genealogist and club member Linda Duffield will share information and show samples of how she compiled scrapbooks as part of her organization plan. She will include talking about the tools and supplies she uses and how to choose the best way to tell your own genealogical story. In the past she had a business called It’s All Relative where she developed and utilized different approaches for each client. Also included will be time for individuals to work on a family name. Bring a name of an ancestor you want to research and any of the facts of their lives that you have gathered. Fresh eyes may help break a “brick wall.” The Orcas Island Genealogy Club is free. Bring a computer or other device that can connect to the internet. Call Vicki Leimbeck (206-714-3348), Rebecca Johnson (360-298-6007) or Kathi Ciskowski (360-376-4186) for more information.
