With the community’s greater awareness of paddleboard safety issues, a local paddling group is offering an opportunity to observe and participate in paddleboard safety and rescues practice on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 1-4 p.m. It will be held at Kaj Dawg Farm, 141 Cadden Lane, in a wonderfully warm pond. If you paddleboard, kayak or enjoy being by the water you may eventually need to help yourself or someone else be rescued back onto a board. Come and observe and try out rescue techniques in a safe environment with experienced paddlers.
Open to the public and free of charge. Paddleboards, personal floatation devices and leashes are available for use during demonstrations. Bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful farm environment with your community.
