Republican caucus on Feb. 13

The Republicans will be holding their bi-annual caucus on Feb. 13.

Every other year, Republicans and Democrats previously have gathered to set down their “platforms.” They also elect representatives to take their concerns to the next level: the county convention. The whole process is repeated at the county convention, sending concerns, platforms, and representatives on to the state convention, where everything is again repeated to send to the national convention.

This year, the Democrats are not having a caucus in Washington state, while the Republicans are. The caucuses this year will be held in the following locations in San Juan County on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m.

Orcas Precincts 1-4, Shaw Island, Stuart Island, and Decatur/Blakely: Orcas Island American Legion Post #93, 793 Crescent Beach Dr., Eastsound.

Lopez Precincts 1 & 2: Woodmen Hall, Fisherman Bay Road, Lopez Island.

San Juan Precincts 1-5, Friday Harbor Precincts 1 & 2, and Waldron: San Juan Island Grange Building, 1st Street N., Friday Harbor.
