Currently, there is a guest column submitted by Valerie A Jusela that most likely rang a lot of bells, not only for those who love a good word fight but for others with interest in the subjects and conclusions that are presented. My response is not to take sides, but rather to urge a serious discussion of the matters that she raises. What might be most helpful would be a response from a responsible source in San Juan County. The response should address any errors or misinterpretations that Ms. Jusela’s letter may have made or whether our existing plans and programs need changes.

Ms. Jusela’s letter deserves such a response.
