Fifth Annual Orcas Island ‘Hops on the Rock’ Beer Festival returns

Submitted by Rick Hughes.

Hops on the Rock is back! The pandemic was hard on everyone and we have missed you all. This November, on an island far, far away (well, not THAT far…) we’re throwing yet another Beer Festival! The Hops on the Rock big tent is back and were planning a weekend of fun, dancing and NovemBEER events all across beautiful Orcas Island. Live music, local food and 20+ local breweries from around the region will be in attendance for a destination beer festival like no other.

“We are thrilled to return yet again,” says Becca Gray co-founder of the event and owner of Island Hoppin’ Brewery. “After a wildly successful first couple of years we took a break and now we’re back! We’ve got an exciting lineup of music, an incredible collection of breweries and a couple more surprises up our sleeves.” Breweries attending will include Fair Aisle and Stemma – among others – who will be showcasing their talents alongside local chefs and live music performances.

Tickets are $40 and are available online. These may be purchased via the website at www.hopsontherock.com but act quickly as they will go fast! The event is expected to sell out as it has done for every year.

The Hops on the Rock Committee is composed of: Becca Gray (Island Hoppin’ Brewery), Regan Vaughn (Smoke Stack Services), Cole Sisson (Doe Bay Wine Company and Roots Cafe), Jacob Linnes (Island Market), Rick Hughes (Ray’s Pharmacy, Con’s Pit Stop and Island Life on Orcas), and Tim Coffey. They share the common belief that November is the most underrated time of the year to visit the island and that drinking beer is the most underrated excuse to do so.
