Had the pleasure of visiting the Youngren FarmHouse Sale this past weekend. The buzzards were swooping, pecking, and circling, to be sure, but all to bolster a wonderful and benificent cause. But the best ‘deal’, and biggest takeaway for me, was the experience itself: of visiting that special property, whose aura, history, and salience shone so clearly through. ‘Twas a beacon of an island life, lived.
Seeing the names and height-marks pencilled on the doorway, and the enduring shrines to family, I could sense the bright energy and nostalgia that seemed to emanate from every creaking floorboard, every sunlit corridor, every nodding tree.
Gratitude all around Youngren folk… and Godspeed to you.
