When your ballot arrives in the coming days, you have the opportunity to make a positive, meaningful change for Orcas Island Fire and Rescue. By electing Brian Ehrmantraut on the Board of Fire Commissioners, we will bring a long-time, respected member of our community to the board. Those of us who know Brian, know that he brings with him a dedication to serving our community along with a broad base of knowledge and analytical expertise. As a former Member of the San Juan Planning Commission, Brian helped to lead one of the most critical advisory boards in our County. He knows what good governance and public accountability requires.

On a more personal note, I have found that when there are issues and concerns in our community that I want to understand better and receive an unbiased perspective on, Brian is one of only a handful of people that I trust for honest information and advice. I believe that in his role as a Fire Commissioner, Brian will be that same, trusted individual for every member of our community. We will all be acknowledged, we will all be heard and we will all be given a voice that has been missing for far too long.
