All are invited to a book launch for Robert Dash’s “Food Planet Future: The Art of Turning Food and Climate Perils Into Possibilities” on Thursday, March 28, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Madrnina Room at Orcas Center.
Six years in the making, this book features photographs and text about foods and agricultural practices with significant climate and biodiversity stories.
Like Dash’s first book, “On An Acre Shy of Eternity,” it makes extensive use of scanning electron microscope imagery and adds surreal photomontage to spark imaginations and invite consideration of the latest food/climate/regenerative agriculture research. Many of the book’s images were made with food sourced from Orcas Island growers. During the launch, Dash will share the background and inspiration that kept him going over these years.
Refreshments will be provided by Botanical Awakenings and Darvill’s will be present to support book signing.
