The Fosters would like to thank the community of Orcas Island for the renovation of our bathroom to accommodate Luanne’s wheelchair. After 49 years of living with diabetes, she had to have her right leg amputated below the knee. It happened so fast and everybody in the building trade stepped up and offered any of their free time to help us out, even at their busy time of the year. They gave up weekends and evenings to help us get everything ready. Luanne was in the hospital and care center for two months. Our special thanks go out to Eric Beemer, Paul Doherty, Dalgarno Construction, Odie’s Plumbing, Rich Madan, Mel Windsor, Neil and Paul of Island Hardware, John and Katy Curlett, Norm Flint, Dave Bainey and our son-in-law Martin Hamasa for the ADA bathroom 3D design and discount on plumbing supplies. Hope we didn’t forget anyone!! Thanks for all the good thoughts, prayers, and dinners and thanks to our American Legion friends for all they did to help.
Thank you to Orcas Island EMTs and paramedics for saving my life. You’re the best.
