This is in regards to the letter last week about my daughter’s bike that was destroyed when someone drove over it.
I am happy to say that the friend of the person who drove over the bike reached out and contacted me and has made arrangements to replace the broken bike. Apparently, after having driven over the bike, he was not sure what to do, and then was called away due to a family emergency. When they saw the letter in the paper, they knew it was about the bike that they had run over and the friend who was on the mainland offered to pick up a new bike for my daughter. Thank you!
My daughter has now learned some valuable lessons, the first being that she should park her bike closer to the house, and the second that responsible people admit their mistakes, and make provisions to correct them. Thank you again for replacing that feeling that the people on Orcas are the best neighbors to have. We take care of each other, and strive to make this island the greatest place to live!
