The Grand Opening of the new Lopez Island’s Co-op of Fine Crafters, or Lo-Co for short, is coming to Lopez Village in the Bay Building next to Gallery 10 located at 265 Lopez Rd.
Four local artisans, Shannon Hoffman, Mari Corrigan, and Carolyn and Adrian Cameron joined together to form the co-op out of the need for a year-round venue to sell local goods. The store is opening April 1.
Lo-Co will feature local arts and crafts, have a monthly spotlight on young and up-and-coming artists and have a special section for visiting (part-time residents) artists. They are encouraging all closet artists hoping to bring out hidden talents.
On March 5, Lo-Co will have an Open House for local (county-wide) crafters and artisans to come and view the store, spaces available and the contract for vendors. Call 468-3818 or e-mail at lopezfinecraft@yahoo.com for more information.
Lo-Co is hoping to offer a wide variety of locally made crafts. Some of the local talent you can expect to see include Lopez and Beyond puzzles and postcards, Little Devil Designs silver jewelry, Beach Combers artwork and jewelry, locally crafted herbal remedies, local photography and much more.
