Teezer’s Cookies to host fundraiser on April 17

Teezer’s Cookies is doing its part to support the fight against human trafficking.

On Saturday, April 17, Teezer’s is hosting a waffle breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds will go to World Concern, a Seattle non-profit that is working to end human trafficking. Three local residents are participating in the “Free Them” 5k Run/Walk hosted by the organization. Ninety-four cents out of every dollar raised goes directly to the cause.

Abe and Ryan Smith and Heather Wallace are walking as “Team Orcas” at the May 1 event. Their fundraising target is $5,000. As of press time, they had raised $200.

“We hope you can come out and support this cause and we thank you for your help in making a difference in the lives of many who have been victims of human trafficking as well as those who will be protected from it in the future,” Wallace said.
