Yakima delayed Wednesday morning

The Yakima ferry was delayed for 45 minutes at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 when ferry personal contacted Orcas Fire and Rescue to assist with a possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

Two people on the car deck were incoherent and unable to drive their car off the ferry. Two OIFR vehicles and volunteers were dispatched to the ferry and the paramedic ruled out carbon monoxide.

The vehicle occupants were alert and talking and the matter was referred to the Sheriff’s Office.

“There were concern for their safety because they were acting strangely and being uncooperative to the ferry attendants,” OIFR Captain Max Jones said.
