The Lopez office of San Juan Propane just got a little more oomph.

Service Technician Tom Miller has been responsible for most of the duties at the Lopez location for years. Now San Juan Propane has hired two new employees to share the workload and provide better service to its customers.

Valerie Green is the new route driver and Michael Crawford is training as a technician, with the goal of taking over Miller’s position when he retires in a few years. Miller has been with San Juan Propane for more than 10 years.

“We intend to go back into more appliance sales and installation, which we had backed away from in prior years due to lack of manpower. It was pretty tough on me and my body. So now we’re in good shape and heading in the right direction,” said Miller.

They also moved to the other side of their existing building on 986 Dill Road, occupying a larger space with two units: one for storage and one for the office.

San Juan Propane offers complete gas systems, gas stoves, fireplaces, hot water heaters, service and installation, and automatic delivery.

Their hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mon.-Fri. The office phone number is 468-4621.
