Coinciding with the Holiday Tree Lighting on Dec. 3 is “Shop the Rock” holiday weekend, with businesses encouraged to stay open until 7 p.m.
New this year, shoppers will receive one raffle ticket for each $20 they spend on Friday, Dec. 3 and Friday, Dec. 10. One winner from each day will be awarded a prize of $100 cash.
“For the holiday season, the chamber thought shopping locally with cash prizes would be an incentive for islanders to begin their holiday shopping on Orcas,” said chamber director Lance Evans.
When you make a purchase of $20 or more at a participating business, you will be entered into the contest. Only one entry per store, but the chamber encourages shoppers to buy at multiple stores for more entries.
Participating businesses include:
Aurora Company; Body Boat Blade; Bucking Doe Studio; Cherry T’s Consignment Store; Clothes Horse; Crow Valley Pottery; Darvill’s Bookstore; Eastsound Instruments; Eclipse Charters Gift Shop; Gordeaux’s; Healing Arts Center; Jillery; Kay’s Antiques; Kathryn Taylor Chocolates; Leapin’ Lizards; Millie’s Antiques, Art & Collectibles; Moon Glow Arts & Crafts; Nest; Office Cupboard; Olga’s; Orcas Outfitters; Pawki’s For Pets; Peter Fisher Gallery; Poppies Fine Yarn; Ray’s Pharmacy; Spirit of the Northwest; Shinola Jewelry; Smith & Speed Mercantile; Tres Fabu; two drews; Warm Valley Orchard; and Wood’s Cove.
