Director of Island Sinfonia Jack Lynch announced fall rehearsals will begin Saturday, Sept. 19.

The orchestra will prepare for spring performances on Lopez, Shaw, San Juan and Orcas islands including a performance with Dennis Bonner’s A Cappella choir.

This season’s repertoire includes Beethoven’s Third Symphony, Norfolk Rhapsody, London Symphony and Folk Song Suite by R. Vaughan Williams, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, and selections from Debussy, Milhaud, and Wilder.

Students and adults are invited to play with the group. Island Sinfonia especially seeks violin and viola players.

Island Sinfonia practices Saturday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Orcas School Band Room from mid-September to mid-May with a break during the winter holidays.
