All are invited to audition for “The Fantasticks” on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. or Monday, Sept. 8, from 6-8 p.m. in the OffCenter of the Orcas Center.
Orcas Center’s production of “The Fantasticks” will be co-directed by Jean Henigson and Linda Tretheway, with musical direction by Ron Myers. It will run for six performances Oct. 23, 24, 25, 30, 31 and Nov. 1. Rehearsals will begin in September.
A perusal copy of the long-running, Tony-Award winning musical may be borrowed from the Orcas Center front office. Characters include: El Gallo, the narrator (baritone); Luisa, a button-maker’s young and pretty daughter (soprano); Matt, the son of Hucklebee (baritone); Hucklebee, father of Matt (baritone); Bellamy, a button-maker and the father of Luisa (baritone); Henry, an ancient actor; Mortimer, an actor who specializes in dying; the Mute; and chorus members.
