“The Birds of Coffelt Farm with Ornithologist Kim Middleton” is Saturday, May 26, 9 a.m. – noon and covers a 1/4 of a mile round trip with a 60-foot elevation gain.
The walk includes a diversity of forest, open pastures, hedgerows, ponds, marsh, orchards and gardens, which provide a haven for many resident and migrant avian species. Anyone curious about the natural history of the islands and the value of habitat protection will enjoy this time with an amazing teacher in a beautiful setting.
Participants park at 1071 Crow Valley Road and should bring farm appropriate footwear, water, snack and binoculars.
