The boys soccer team had a rough week as they stumbled going into the last pivotal few games to make the playoffs with losses against Friday Harbor and LaConner.
The Viking boys soccer team (5-8) lost their only game last week 4-3 against Shoreline Christian (4-9) and prepare for away games this week against Friday Harbor and LaConner.
The Vikings (0-5) faced Friday Harbor (4-1) for the second meeting of the season ending in another loss, 30-6.
The Vikings football team traveled to LaConner for a 43-6 loss under the lights in Skagit Valley. Suiting up only 14 players versus 36 Braves, the Vikings showed resolution and commitment to their teammates and school as they once again faced an insurmountable task. At half, a well-executing Brave team lead 36-0.
Vikings volleyball played two of the better teams in the league and got swept in both contests. On Sept. 30, Orcas traveled to Darrington for a 3-0 loss against the Loggers, one of the top teams in the league.

The Lady Vikings soccer team hosted the LaConner Braves on Sept. 22 in a 4-0 loss.
The Vikings had a very tight defensive first half limiting the Braves to one break away goal. The Braves continued to put pressure on the goalie in the second half with two deep kicks and a penalty kick after a hands call.

The Viking Volleyball team opened their season with a non-league home game against island rival Lopez Island in a 3-0 win.
Matt Stolmeier enters his ninth year coaching the boys Viking soccer team and has a strong group of 15 returning players to take on a restructured league that now includes Friday Harbor.
