In the past, said coach Scott Harris, the Vikings have squeaked out wins against their old La Conner arch-rivals by one or two runs – not eight.

The Lady Vikes notched up a league win against Darrington this week, with non-league losses to Lynden Christian and Seattle Lutheran.
The Vikings beat Darrington in five innings on April 21, by the 10 run rule at 13-3.
“That game was really good because we played a really sound defensive game, started to knock off the rust, the team really worked together well,” said Harris. “Our pitchers were sound and tight to the strike zone and our bats were really alive.” Lanie Padbury hit a double and a triple, and both April Hofmann and Emily Bodenhamer hit a triple as well.
The Viking baseball team soundly defeated Darrington on April 14, with a score of 17-9.
“They felt really good, they were pumped up,” said coach Christian Gardiner.
He said the boys had a great time on the field, hitting well and playing decent defense. Nine of the players scored a run or got a hit during the game. The Darrington pitcher handed out a few walks, and Logger defensive errors contributed to the win.
