He is a man who knows his trees.
Bathan Shaner has nearly a decade of experience in tree climbing and limbing, but now it is official: he is a certified arborist.
“I decided to become a certified arborist because I wanted to better myself in the field of work that I am passionate about,” Shaner said.
He works with property owners on deciding the best ways to enhance views, taking core samples and assessing tree health, removing problem trees, and thinning the canopy from trees for home safety. He has done tree work in Tacoma, Kirkland, and the San Juans, including Blakely and Crane.
Shaner grew up on Orcas; he is married to Victoria Shaner, a real estate agent at Windermere.
“We are fortunate to live in a beautiful place, and my job is to help property owners make the decisions that are best for them and the trees,” he said.
Shaner can be reached at 317-6220.
