A new Business Essentials mini-series, sponsored by the Orcas Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Tuesday, April 21 and Wednesday, April 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eastsound Fire Hall classroom.
“Skilled and Happy Staff = Happy Customers” is a two-session series for business owners and managers of both public and private enterprises. The course will address hiring and supervisory practices that lead to enhanced customer service. Topics will include how to interview, how to orient and train new staff, how to coach if performance isn’t up to speed, and generational communication differences.
The course will be taught by Louise Carnachan, an Orcas Island resident who has been conducting management training and retreats for over 20 years.
Cost for the two sessions is $40 for Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce members and $50 for non-members. To register, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 376-2273 or email info@orcasislandchamber.com.
