There’s a new hot spot on the island — come see what the buzz is all about.

Harmony Hive Bistro is now open at the Orcas Ferry Landing. Whether you are seeking a quick grab-and-go breakfast bite before catching the ferry, or leisurely brunching with your besties, Harmony Hive Bistro invites all to indulge in a harmonious feast for the senses while overlooking the picturesque ferry terminal.

The new establishment above Orcas Hotel is the brainchild of Holly Dennis, a 30+ year resident of Orcas Island and the PNW.

“We envision Harmony Hive as not just a bistro but a gathering place where locals and visitors alike can come together to savor a great variety of food, hear beautiful music, and forge lasting connections,” Dennis said, emphasizing her hope to create a community hub.

Dennis started 35 years ago brewing her chai using her own recipe. She started serving her brew at the local farmers’ markets and then at different events. With her innovative approach to organic cuisine, the restaurant promises a dining experience that harmonizes local ingredients with international influences.

The ambiance inside Harmony Hive Bistro is as equally inviting as the captivating views offered from the prime vantage point located above the ferry terminal, with a quaint and vibrantly colorful garden courtyard, to a covered patio that acts as a welcome shade from the sun and an inner cafe that has a unique personality all on its own. Patrons can enjoy their meals indoors or outdoors as they dine in or grab-and-go while waiting for the ferry.

When fully staffed, Harmony Hive Bistro will be open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is currently closed on Mondays.

Each dish at Harmony Hive reflects a strong commitment to buying local, seasonal produce and responsible local sourcing. The menu boasts a diverse array of offerings, from fresh fruit smoothies, vegan/veg/meat wraps, soups, salads and breakfast items. Stay tuned for future late-night food service details.
