New shuttle service on Orcas

OrcasCars.com launched in 2018, providing brand new rental vehicles in San Juan Islands. Since then, the team behind OrcasCars.com has learned first-hand about the need for a reliable daily public transportation service on Orcas. The company is owned by Yuri Mamchur, Aleks Drogobetski and Tucker Simmons.

OrcaShuttle.com is a vital option for tourists without ferry reservations, although the islanders are the primary beneficiaries of the new service. The company offers 50 percent discounts to Orcas residents and seasonal staff on all fares: one-way trips, same-day roundtrips, and all-day passes. OrcaShuttle.com is free for OrcasCars.com renters, U.S. Military, Veterans, and Salish Tribal citizens.

“Whether traveling on Kenmore Air from Seattle or walking on the ferry, the shuttle’s day pass finally allows visitors to enjoy an Orcas Island day trip, almost impossible in years past due to the limited transportation options,” says Christopher Peacock, General Manager of Rosario Resort & Spa.

The shuttle never misses ferries, as its tracker is digitally tied to the live WSDOT vessel statuses.

OrcasCars.com sponsored a filmmaking workshop with Emmy-winning director Mike Stryker during the 2019 Orcas Island Film Festival. In 2020, OrcasCars.com began its support of the Orcas Island Football Club, led by the company’s fourth co-founder Baturay Balic, who earlier in the year sold his stake in the company. To promote the new service and further support the community, OrcasCars.com will donate $1 from each ticket purchased by a local resident towards one college scholarship of a 2022 Orcas High School graduate.
