As we move from spring into summer this year, our community will begin using our own Moran State Park for many outdoor activities. Our island children, their families and visitors alike love our park and look forward to enjoying their day at the lake, hiking, swimming or firing up the BBQ.
This winter, as many have witnessed, did quite a bit of damage to our beloved state park. Many trees came down, so branch debris has littered many areas of the day use and campgrounds.
I’m encouraging all hands on deck to help with the upcoming annual park clean up scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please meet at the Cascade Lake shelter and bring your own rake, gloves, water bottle and a helping hand to prepare our state park for all to enjoy! Volunteer parking passes are provided. Lunch will be offered by the Friends of Moran at the Camp Moran Lodge beginning at 12:30 p.m.
