Thank you.
On behalf of Helping Hands Noramise and the people of Limbe’, Haiti, we thank you so very much for the support that enabled our Orcas youth to travel to Haiti on the first island-to-island youth exchange and also for the support you are lending to the projects we have underway in Limbe’.
Many of you turned out on Tuesday, July 27 at the Emmanuel Parish Hall (whose generous support we greatly appreciate) to celebrate the success of the youth trip, listen to their stories, and follow along with the wonderful slide show they created. We ended the evening with a “Golden Shoestring” live auction officiated by stellar auctioneer John Clancy. Once again, you opened your hearts and your wallets and contributed funds that met the total goal for the dozen items most needing funding.
As a result, Jimmy will now have tires, the hospital treatment of the little boy’s burn will be paid, Bethesda School will have seeds for its garden, the farmer’s association will be able to begin work on the aquaculture project, the Noramise Limbe’ Center will be improved, the café will receive its micro-loan, the survey will be undertaken to build the Colvert Vocational School, Tambou Creole Artists Collective will be able to complete construction of their workshop, Mr. Aristote’s cellphone will be paid for, and he will have some help with upcoming surgery. Last but not least, it appears that the First Baptist Church will be able to complete work on its privy – no small accomplishment.
As Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, and once again you have shown that you are. Thank you.
Team Noramise
