I felt it was time to acknowledge “Stitch & Gossip”, the community based women’s group that has been in existence since the 1920s.

The “Stitch” gals go to the Orcas Landing every year and decorate for Christmas. They also buy two lovely wreaths from the Montessori School for the landing and for the Orcas Post Office. When you are down at the landing and notice the pine garlands with bows around the ferry ramp, please thank “Stitch” for making it look Christmassy and festive.

If any women in the Orcas Village area are interested we’d love to have you check us out. We have monthly luncheons at a member’s house and I must say we have a wonderful group. “Stitch” also raises money and donates to different charities each year as well.

We don’t sit around and stitch anything but we sure have fun. If interested in joining you can contact me at 376-5738. Thanks again ladies!
