After the Eastsound parade celebrating the Fourth of July and our glorious nation, we were pleased to have a candidate forum in our yard. The candidates who spoke were offering themselves for election at every level – county, state, and national. We were so impressed with the willingness of each of them to serve during these difficult times even at great sacrifice to their families. In this letter we’d like to recommend one candidate in particular: Dusty Gulleson, who is running for State Representative 40th District, position 1.
Dusty’s grandfather came to Washington State in the early 1900s and raised his dad on a farm in Elma, Wash. Dusty is a husband and a dad of two little kids, and owns his own technical business. He has become passionately concerned for the people of this state he loves and has decided to offer to take his experience as a businessman to Olympia. It is his hope that a focused non-partisan effort can turn around the direction of the state government and get it back on track. The depth of Dusty’s caring heart was so very apparent to us, let alone the promise of his own considerable experience as an accomplished businessman and a loving husband and dad. Hence, we have no doubt this is a man we want as our representative in the state legislature, when the state is in such disastrous shape. We hope San Juan County folks who care about the future of the state’s economic condition will consider the importance of a vote for him, too!
