The board, volunteers and staff of the Orcas Animal Protection Society wish to express our gratitude for the many years of service Dr. Joe Gaydos has performed for us, as he moves onto to new adventures in his life. We can’t begin to express how grateful OAPS is for exceptional veterinary care Dr. Joe Gaydos has given to the shelter animals over the past 20 years. During his time at the shelter, he has spayed or neutered 1682 cats and dogs, and one bobcat. Many of these surgeries have been for community pets utilizing our low cost spay/neuter program. This service has substantially decreased the number of unwanted pets in our small island community. Though we will miss seeing his smiling face and hearing his SeaDoc stories, we know stepping away from the shelter will bring him the much-needed free time for many more adventures with family and friends. We appreciate his professionalism and care of the animals, but most of all, we will miss his sense of humor which always brought joy to our afternoons and evenings.
As Dr. Joe passes the torch to Dr. Mike Boero and Dr. Teri Dowdell, the shelter will continue its mission to provide the best care possible to our shelter cats and dogs; as well as those in our community utilizing our low cost spay/neuter program.
Thank you Joe!
