Roland and I feel embraced by this incredible community, and want to say thank you for making us feel welcome, and for making us never want to say goodbye.
Special thanks to:
Gene Nery, for your musical talent and spectacular personality. We’re looking forward to making more music together!
Charly Robinson and the vendors at The Farmer’s Market – thank you for making me feel so at home at the market, I loved being a part of it so much.
Cherry T’s, for showcasing my line of upcycled kidswear, mialeentje, in your shop.
Martin Lund, for giving us the opportunity to participate in the One World Festival.
Willie Thomas for showing us how be-bop is done.
Rod and Alison Magner, we’re looking forward to the 4th Annual Hangar Gig next summer!
The Ghazel family, for lending us your keyboard for all our gigs!
The Funhouse, for lending us equipment for our performances.
The Lower Tavern, where we made lasting friendships and loved being regulars at Open Mic night.
The Garden Club for lending me their market canopy for the summer.
The Exchange, for providing tons of material for “mialeentje,” (not to mention the bulk of my wardrobe!)
Nikki at Tres Fabu, for holding those gorgeous red shoes indefinitely until I could afford them!
Alex Huppenthal, for recording, broadcasting and sharing our music.
Jessica and James, your friendship makes us know we belong here.
And, finally, my parents, Jim and Sara Hennessey, for your unconditional support, patience and love. Your home was a haven within a haven for us to explore our creativity, expand on friendships and do everything we never would’ve been able to do otherwise.
What makes Orcas Island a beautiful place is the people who live, work and breathe here. As I write this, we’re going back home, but we feel like Orcas is our home. We’ll be back next summer, and it’s just a matter of time before we find a way to come back forever.
With much love and gratitude,
Lizanne Hennessey, Roland Stolk, Mia and Bram
