Thanks for caring for Monique | Letter

There are so many people to thank for what they did for my wife, Monique.

There are so many people to thank for what they did for my wife, Monique.

The EMTs in her hours of need. Their care and compassion could not have been more sincere. The mercy flight pilots, who got her off island and who never wavered in their quest to get her where she needed to go with understanding and love. The community of Orcas, who always had a kind word. You will never know how much you meant to her. Dr. Shinstrom, who was more than a doctor. He became and will always be a friend. It’s nice to treat and prescribe, but it’s nicer to be a caring person. To the Odd Fellows, who were there when I needed them the most.  And most of all to the two angels who came to my house and took charge of everything. Molly and Suzi, you were sent by God when I didn’t know what to do or who to turn to. I don’t know what makes people like you, but I wish there were more of them.

I am sure I have forgotten someone and I’m sorry for it. Please accept my apologies.

Lastly, there will be a celebration of her life on Aug. 28 at the Oddfellows Hall between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Please come. Monique would have liked that.
