One hundred ninety-nine Orcas children celebrated this holiday season with their Christmas wishes coming true, thanks to the generosity of our community.

During the month The Giving Tree at Island Market was on display, gifts were requested by families, tags were chosen by “Santas,” wrapped gifts were returned, and presents were distributed to ALL 199 children by December 24! That’s a lot of smiling faces and holiday cheer!

None of it would have been possible without those of you who chose to sponsor a child from the tree or make a monetary donation (thank you!) The Salvation Army also helped by giving a little extra to the children who didn’t get much (and thanks to Island Hardware and Supply those gifts were delivered right to our door). Each year we are overwhelmed and inspired by this process. It is another example of why we choose to live where we do.
