“There’s a reason that Land Bank has had a 34-year run,” San Juan Island resident Sandy Buckley said on Facebook. “Because it works.”
The value I have received in the 35 years I have lived in the San Juan Islands from the Land Bank has been well worth it. It has kept land open to views, areas to walk, forests to perpetuate nature, not only for me, but for my children and grandchildren. I am thankful for the Land Bank and how it has used the properties in its care for the use of all citizens in the county. It has worked with the San Juan Preservation Trust and other non profits to further protect and carefully open the properties for everyone’s enjoyment. We voted in 34 years ago a unique and resourceful program that heightened the aesthetic value of the San Juans for all of her citizens and can continue to do so into the future. I say Yes to the Land Bank. And I pay tax on 40 acres of property.
